The Fletcher Henderson Foundation was a recipient of the 2020 Vibrant Communities Grant funded by the Georgia Council of the Arts for the Fletcher Henderson Jazz Festival on October 12, 2019! We are extremely grateful of the support from the Georgia Council for the Arts, our local representatives and our community in Southwest Georgia.
About the Fletcher Henderson Jazz Festival
The Fletcher Henderson Jazz Festival has been Southwest Georgia’s only jazz-specific festival with the first festival being held in 1987 and since 1999 it has been held annually on the Saturday before Columbus Day. The festival is held to preserve the memory and legacy of jazz pioneer and Cuthbert’s native son, Fletcher Henderson Jr.
